The Fall/Winter Layering Guide for Streetwear

Layers win the cold months

Fall and winter streetwear is a stacking game. Get the order right and you stay warm without losing the silhouette.

The formula: 3 layers

  1. Base: a heavyweight tee — breathable, structured, holds shape under everything.
  2. Mid: hoodie or crewneck sweatshirt — your warmth engine and the visual core of the fit.
  3. Shell: coach jacket, puffer, or overcoat — weather protection and the finishing line.

Rules that keep it clean

  • Each layer should be slightly roomier than the one beneath — never fight the fabric.
  • Let hems peek: tee under hoodie, hoodie under jacket. Visible layers add depth.
  • Keep the palette tight: three colors max across all layers.
  • Headwear finishes it — a beanie or dad hat ties the whole stack together.
